Toxic Waste Dumped into Büyüksu Creek
It was revealed that leading white meat producing companies operating in Bolu were discharging toxic waste from their facilities into the Büyüksu Stream. The Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change detected this situation and launched an investigation.

As a result of the investigations carried out by the teams, two companies producing chicken were sentenced to an administrative fine of 1 million 160 thousand liras per facility for not operating the purification system.
The Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change also filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor’s office against the two companies in question for the crime of “Deliberately Polluting the Environment”.
