The Tragic Incident in Tulkerim
Today, Israeli soldiers opened fire on the house of Ahmed Nasr, a 30-year-old man living in the Ektaba district, during a 14-hour raid on Tulkerim. Nasr, who told AA about his experiences, said that he and his wife and 3-year-old twins were in the house when they narrowly escaped being targeted by Israeli bullets.
“We woke up this morning to the sound of gunshots coming from all around the house. For about 40 minutes, my wife and children and I couldn’t get out from under the bed. I shouted several times, ‘What’s happening?’ “But to no avail. My father’s car, parked in front of the house, was hit by an Energa anti-tank missile and completely burst into flames,” Nasr said.
Nasr, who noted that Israeli soldiers only found him, his wife and children after searching the house claiming that there was a “wanted” person, continued his words as follows: “After I left the house, a soldier said to me, ‘Your house was beautiful two hours ago, but now it’s unusable, we’re sorry.’ What can I say, my house is unusable, everywhere is shot, my father’s car is burned, and the Israeli soldier says to me, ‘We’re sorry.'”
The Israeli army raided the Tulkerim camp in the morning hours, and armed clashes broke out between Palestinians who opposed the raid and Israeli soldiers. This incident shows that tensions in the region have increased once again.
