The incident that took place yesterday in the Pınar Neighborhood in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul horrified the residents of the area. Neighbors suspected that there might be a body in the apartment due to the strong smells coming from the ground floor.
Citizens who saw the two young homeowners carrying their belongings in black garbage bags immediately reported the situation to the police. When the police teams entered the apartment, they were shocked by the scene they encountered.
The property owner was immediately notified due to the insects, mice and bad smell in the apartment full of garbage. The parties who came to the scene decided to go to the police station and evacuate the apartment, while the garbage house was cleaned by Esenyurt Municipality teams.
“I Suspected It Might Be a Corpse”
Turan Ali İlke, a resident of the apartment building, was the brave person who noticed the garbage house and called the police. İlke described his experience with the following words: “When I stepped into the building, I was met with a strong stench. When I saw the young people living in the apartment leaving the house with black bags, I became suspicious and called the police immediately. I was worried that there might be a body. When the police arrived, the young people who did not want to open the door resisted by saying, ‘Why are you bothering me? ‘They finally forced their way into the apartment and came across a garbage dump. There was rotting meat inside the house, places where water was flowing, and everywhere was full of insects. “It was impossible to enter the building, and a few people even had to move because of this filth.”
