Amro is the founder of “Youth Against Settlements”He stressed that his group continues to be an active force in the Palestinian resistance. Amro said the group’s goal is to unite Palestinians and their supporters against the occupation, and that they continue nonviolent resistance, legal activism and global campaigns, as well as aiming to strengthen Palestinian society. Speaking about Israel’s violence in Gaza and the West Bank, Amro said he was arrested several times before and after October 7, 2023.

Amro assessed the current situation by saying, “There is a real genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza and a secret, undeclared war against Palestinians in the West Bank.” Detailing the difficult conditions such as kidnapping, detention and torture, Amro expressed that despite these difficulties, they maintained their determination to resist.
Amro said, “They want Palestinians to die silently, but we reject this and will not give up,” and added that the struggle for freedom, justice and equality will continue. He reiterated his determination by saying, “We will continue to fight and resist until we achieve our freedom, justice and equality.”
Amro, who stated that Israeli oppression in the West Bank has increased, said that Palestinians have been forced to change their resistance strategies. Drawing attention to the fact that peaceful protests have become almost impossible, Amro said, “After October 7, we can no longer hold peaceful protests. They are shooting Palestinian protesters. They are killing them.”

Amro said their current focus has shifted to documenting human rights violations, raising funds and ensuring Palestinian families can remain on their land. “Right now, we as Palestinians are in a real struggle for existence. Our existence is resistance,” he said, emphasizing the Palestinians’ determination.
Noting that Israel wants to silence the voices of the Palestinians and isolate them from the world, Amro said, “Our presence in these lands, our presence in the hot spots, our presence in our lands is our main goal these days.” He also made a call to those who support Israel, warning, “Those who support Israel support ‘apartheid.'” He stated that those who support the occupation will go down in history as a black mark.
Amro called on supporters of Israel to educate themselves about the realities on the ground and recognize their role in perpetuating the occupation, apartheid and racism.
