Palestinian Ambassador to Podgorica Rabi Alnantouli, in his opening speech, stated that this picture is a strong indication that Montenegro stands by the Palestinian people. Alnantouli gave an emotional message saying, “They stand by justice and the Palestinian people. Israel is committing genocide in Palestine. I cannot describe the pain I feel in words. Please continue to be our voice.”

Artist Miso Joskic told the event attendees the story of an ant carrying water to put out a fire, saying, “When we work together, we can have a much greater impact than we think.” Joskic’s mural, begun in July and completed at the end of August, depicts a scene where two Palestinian children holding slices of watermelon look up from inside a ruined building, smiling at those looking at them.
