A Meaningful Mural for Palestine Unveiled in Montenegro
Montenegrin painter Miso Joskic, made an impressive painting called “Smiling Palestinian Children” on the wall of a building to draw attention to Israel’s attacks on Palestinian lands. The opening of this special work was held with the participation of hundreds of people.
Palestinian Ambassador to Podgorica Rabi Alnantouli, in his opening speech, stated that this picture is a strong indication that Montenegro stands by the Palestinian people. Alnantouli gave an emotional message saying, “They stand by justice and the Palestinian people. Israel is committing genocide in Palestine. I cannot describe the pain I feel in words. Please continue to be our voice.”
Artist Miso Joskic told the event attendees the story of an ant carrying water to put out a fire, saying, “When we work together, we can have a much greater impact than we think.” Joskic’s mural, begun in July and completed at the end of August, depicts a scene where two Palestinian children holding slices of watermelon look up from inside a ruined building, smiling at those looking at them.
