Ramazan Özcan, Chairman of Malatya Commodity Exchange, stated that there was a slight decrease in exports compared to the previous season due to the economic developments and global crises experienced worldwide. However, he underlined that despite this, they maintained the number of countries by exporting to 115 countries.

“We have no rivals in quality”

Özcan made the following statements while evaluating last season’s export figures:

“The previous year, we had exported 80 thousand tons and earned 434 million dollars. Last season, we exported 66 thousand 832 tons and earned 398 million 809 thousand dollars. We have experienced market losses especially in countries close to the Central Asian region, especially China and Russia. The fact that product prices in Central Asia have increased competition in these regions. However, in terms of quality, Turkish and Malatya apricots still maintain the highest standards worldwide. countries.

We have no rivals in quality, but when we consider production costs, we see that we are faced with countries that we have to compete with in some regions. While we are trying to protect our export prices, we also need to protect our markets. This year, we have to realize 100 thousand tons of exports in line with our target. “We will make an intensive effort to reach our targeted 750 million dollars in revenue.”
