Company Detected That Damaged Natural Structure in Cappadocia
After the photographers who came to the Cappadocia region noticed the situation by making observations in the area where the fairy chimneys are located, the gendarmerie and teams affiliated with the Nevşehir Area Directorate were quickly dispatched to the region. When it was determined that nature and the unique fairy chimneys were damaged, the teams started an investigation on the charge of ‘destroying the natural structure’.
The company was fined 2 million TL
The damaged area was cleaned in the morning by the teams of Cappadocia Area Directorate and Nevşehir Restoration and Conservation Regional Laboratory Directorate. Following the investigations, a penalty of approximately 2 million TL was imposed on the company in question. Additionally, legal proceedings were initiated against company officials.
Cappadocia Site Directorate announced that it has taken all necessary measures to protect this important area of Cappadocia, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the statement, it was stated that all necessary work will be followed meticulously to protect the Göreme Valley from such negative actions and to pass it on to future generations in a healthy way.
