Ahmet Güleç, Chairman of the Federation of Furniture Associations (MOSFED), emphasizes that the Turkish furniture sector has successfully made a name for itself in world trade, production, added value and design in the last 20 years. He states that Turkey has risen to 7th place in furniture exports, entered the top 12 countries in production and has reached the top ranks in design.

Güleç stated that Turkish furniture is preferred worldwide and noted that the sector, which had a foreign trade deficit 20 years ago, has now achieved an annual export success of 5 billion dollars in furniture, imports only 500 million dollars and has a net foreign trade surplus. of 4.5 billion dollars.

Güleç states that the biggest problem in the sector is not being able to find people to work in manufacturing. He emphasizes that industrial vocational high schools should be encouraged. He emphasizes the importance of personnel to work in manufacturing and draws attention to the need for personnel in different professions.

Güleç, who stated that financial support should be given to those working in the manufacturing industry in particular, expressed that tax advantages should be provided. He emphasized that those working in manufacturing should gain social prestige.

He states that there is a need for various professions in furniture production and that if the personnel shortage in the sector is not resolved, imports and product prices may increase.
