Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Münir Karaloğlu inspected the region due to the land fire that broke out between Diyarbakır and Mardin. Karaloğlu stated that 11 people lost their lives and 78 were injured in the fire. He also announced that a total of 15 thousand 100 decares of land was damaged.

Karaloğlu, who inspected the Köksalan neighborhood of Çınar district, where the fire broke out between Diyarbakır and Mardin yesterday evening, attended the funeral of Ubeydullah Buğdaycı, the father of 4 children, and his nephew Abdurrahman Buğdaycı, who lost their lives in the fire. AFAD President Okay Memiş, Diyarbakır Governor Ali İhsan Su, Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Ayşe Serra Bucak Küçük, AK Party deputies Galip Ensarioğlu, Suna Kepolu, Mehmet Sait Yaz and many people attended the funeral ceremony.
Damage Assessments and Assistance
Karaloğlu stated that 8 of those who lost their lives in the fire were registered in Mardin and 3 were registered in Diyarbakır, and announced that a total of 556 sheep and goats perished. He stated that while 8 thousand 100 decares of land were damaged in Diyarbakır, 7 thousand decares of land were affected in Mardin. Saying that all institutions and organizations of the state are in the region, Karaloğlu announced that AFAD sent 5 million liras of aid.
