CHP Deputy Chairman Responsible for Domestic and International Organization Ensar Aytekin invited all citizens to participate in the Labor Rally to be held in Kocaeli Gebze on Sunday, June 30. Making a statement about the Labor Rally, Aytekin emphasized that they will be the voice of workers and laborers and said, “Gebze, Kocaeli is a city of workers. Therefore, where the problem occurs, we will be with those who experience the problem and we will announce their demands to Turkey.”
CHP Deputy Chairman Ensar Aytekin met with Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik and Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba at the meeting held in Istanbul. At the meeting, Çelik stated that there would be a significant participation from the Anatolian side, while Aytekin, referring to the rallies they had previously held, stated that they would express the demands of workers and laborers in Gebze on Sunday.
Minimum Wage Update Expected
Aytekin, who also touched on the issue of minimum wage in particular, stated that the minimum wage should be updated in line with inflation rates. Aytekin said, “It is extremely sad that there has been no increase in the minimum wage. We think that the minimum wage should be at least 21,422 lira, especially in a period when inflation is high. We will continue to implement policies in favor of “Labor to find a solution to the problem of not being able to make ends meet in this country.”
Emphasizing that Turkey is the only country among OECD countries where inflation is increasing, Aytekin drew attention to the economic problems experienced in Turkey and drew attention to the inadequacy of the minimum wage. Emphasizing the CHP’s stance on the side of labor and workers, Aytekin stated that they will be the voice of workers, laborers and the poor at the Labor Rally.
