Zelenskyy: “Cooperation with the US is important”

 Zelenskiy:

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of cooperation with the US, saying, “But we are also undertaking difficult tasks” and that they should cooperate with the US in any case. In a private interview held in London, the capital of England, Zelenskyy said that he intends to work together with whoever takes office in the US.

The words of Ohio Senator JD Vance, whom Trump announced as his vice presidential candidate this week, that he “doesn’t care what’s going on in Ukraine” have once again come to the fore. Vance’s stance has raised questions about how the US will approach the balance in Ukraine in the future.

‘We Have to Work with the US’
When reminding of Vance’s words, Zelenskyy said, “Maybe he doesn’t really understand what’s going on in Ukraine. We have to work with the United States.”

If former US President Donald Trump returns to the White House, a more moderate stance toward Russia is likely to become a driving force in US policy, which could tip the scales in the war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader was in the UK to attend a meeting of the European Political Community (EPC). The EPC meeting, which includes 27 EU member states and 20 non-member states, acts as an informal platform for cooperation.

During his visit, Zelenskyy met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who promised to provide 3 billion pounds in aid to the country and said they would “stand by Ukraine.” Zelenskyy said he expected the Keir Starmer era to be “a special period for British foreign policy.”
