Following his visit to the 15 July Martyrs’ Tomb on the Anatolian Side of the 15 July Martyrs’ Bridge, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the citizens in front of the 15 July Memory Museum.
President Erdoğan stated that he greeted the relatives of the martyrs and the heroic veterans with the most heartfelt feelings, respect and affection.
Recalling the epic that our nation wrote against the putschists on the 8th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt on July 15, Erdoğan said: “On this historic day when our nation wrote an epic against the putschists, we are once again together as one heart and call forward.”
- We sent Fatihas to the heroes who made sacrifices for our independence and future.
- We express our gratitude, wishing mercy upon the souls of the martyrs and grant them heavenly resting places.
- We expressed our gratitude to the veterans.
- We defended our homeland, our flag and our future.
President Erdoğan emphasized that the July 15 Martyrs’ Bridge was one of the places where the will of the nation rose on the night of July 15 and a true story of heroism was written.
Stating that they will never forget the martyrs and veterans by keeping the spirit of July 15 alive, Erdoğan said that they will never allow games played against the will of the nation.
In addition to President Erdoğan, his wife Emine Erdoğan, ministers, the governor, the Istanbul Provincial Chairman, members of parliament, veterans and families of martyrs also attended the visit.
