US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with his Japanese counterpart Kamikawa Yoko and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar during his visit to Tokyo. The talks were held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
During Blinken’s meeting with Kamikawa, they discussed Japan’s security and stability role in the Indo-Pacific region, and exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional issues.
During the meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar, global issues were discussed. Bilateral and multilateral cooperation opportunities were evaluated and the possibility of increasing cooperation in line with common interests was discussed.
Protest by Palestinian Supporters
During Blinken’s talks, Palestinian supporters protested outside the building where he met his Japanese counterpart Kamikawa. The demonstrators chanted “Blinken go home” and “Free Palestine”, and also held signs that read “Blinken should be ashamed” and “Stop the genocide in Gaza”.
As a result of police intervention, the demonstrators were removed from the vicinity of the building. While no incidents occurred during the protest, security measures were increased.
