US Cities Recognize July 15

In the United States, it was reported that some cities in the states of Texas, Idaho, Ohio and Georgia officially recognized July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. In a statement made by the Turkish American Steering Committee (TASC), it was stated that cities such as Boise, Dayton and Columbus, starting with the capital Austin, officially recognized July 15.

TASC President Lawyer Seyit Şahin reminded that these cities received the declarations of solidarity and that the Washington Municipality and the Baltimore Municipality took the same step last year. Şahin emphasized that the US recognition of July 15 was a positive step for Turkish-American relations.

Şahin, who stated that a total of six states in the US currently recognize July 15, said that the state of Texas, which hosts FETÖ’s schools, has increased the importance of this decision. Şahin, who emphasized the long-standing NATO alliance between Turkey and the US, stated that the meeting between President Erdoğan and US President Biden will have a positive impact on relations.
