Ersin Oral and his friend Mustafa Günay, who went to swim at Kısırkaya Beach in Sarıyer, disappeared around noon. Recep Kurban, who was on the beach at the time of the incident, entered the sea to save Oral and his friend; however, he disappeared under the waves. Search and rescue teams, who arrived at the scene upon notification, reached Recep Kurban’s lifeless body yesterday evening.
Ersin Oral has not yet been found in searches carried out throughout the day by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, Coast Guard, AFAD and Gendarmerie Search and Rescue Teams. His friend Mustafa Günay, who went into the sea and was in danger of drowning, was rescued by search and rescue teams and is receiving treatment in hospital.
The search started again early this morning. The relatives of Ersin Oral, who is reported to be married and a father of one child, also came to the scene to follow the search efforts.
‘4-5 Friends Have Come’
Ersin Oral’s cousin Hüseyin Oral said, “They came here yesterday at around 02:00. 4-5 friends came. The lifeless body of one of them has been found right now. We are waiting for our cousin, we are not sure if he drowned. God willing, may it be for the best. AFAD, Gendarmerie teams and divers said they were looking. Apart from that, there is no development. He was 35 years old, had one son, and had been married for 10 years.”
