The traffic accident that occurred in Kartal district in the early hours of the morning was caused by a driver who was asleep at the wheel, causing 7 people to be injured.
The accident took place on the D-100 Highway in the direction of Edirne in Kartal District. In the incident that took place around 05:00, the Volkswagen brand vehicle with plate number 16 TL 958, whose name has not yet been learned, went out of control of its driver who was asleep at the steering wheel and crashed first into a Fiat brand commercial taxi with plate number 34 TYG 40 driving in the same direction and then into a Volvo brand car with plate number 06 DOG 452 coming from the right lane.
A total of 7 people were injured in the accident, and children in two of the vehicles were among the injured. Upon notice of other drivers in the area, medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams took the injured to Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital. Police teams launched an investigation into the accident and directed traffic in a controlled manner.
Speaking after the accident, Mustafa Kılıç, who was in the vehicle, said, “We were driving in the right lane. The driver must have fallen asleep. He first hit the commercial taxi, then us, and stuck it into the barriers. Unfortunately “6-7 people were injured.”
