Telephone Conversation Between King Abdullah II of Jordan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz

Ürdün Kralı 2. Abdullah ve Almanya Başbakanı Olaf Scholz Arasında Telefon Görüşmesi

The Jordanian Royal Court announced that a telephone conversation took place between King Abdullah II and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. During this conversation, King Abdullah emphasized that Israel’s attacks on the occupied West Bank must be stopped immediately and drew attention to the importance of establishing a comprehensive ceasefire to prevent the spread of conflict in the region.

The King warned against the hostile actions of the Israelis against the Palestinians in the occupation of the Palestinian territories, as well as the Israeli violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem. He also stressed the necessity of an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, noting the role that Germany and the European Union could play in this regard.

King Abdullah also stated that he would never allow Jordan to become a war zone and the stability of his country to be shaken. The King stated that lasting justice and peace in the region could only be achieved with a two-state solution (Israel-Palestine).

On the other hand, it has been reported that 17 Palestinians have been martyred, many people have been injured and 45 people have been detained in the “large-scale” attacks launched by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank yesterday. In addition, the number of martyrs in Israel’s attacks on Gaza has exceeded 40,000 in the last 10 months, the majority of whom are women and children. The humanitarian disaster in the region is deepening every day.
