Healthcare workers and medical students gathered in front of the Fethiye Mosque and marched on Gazi Ahmet Muhtar Pasha Street, carrying Turkish, Palestinian and East Turkestan flags. The group that joined the march silently followed Faikbey and Kazım Pasha streets and reached the Gazi Kars Bedesten in the Kars Castle area.
During the march, the group members prayed for the martyrs and gave messages of support to the people of Gaza. During the speeches, the people of Gaza who have resisted the ongoing oppression for 266 days and the health workers who stand by them were emphasized. Speaking on behalf of the group, Ide Aslan greeted the people of Gaza and the health workers who maintain human dignity despite the difficult conditions in Gaza.
Aslan stated that healthcare workers in Turkey came together to support Gaza within the scope of the “Silent March” event. Drawing attention to the occupation and oppression that Palestine has been experiencing for many years, Aslan stated that people in Gaza are struggling with hunger, lack of medicine and epidemic diseases.
Emphasizing that thousands of people lost their lives and hospitals were severely damaged as a result of Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Aslan said that the international community remained indifferent to this situation. Stating that hospitals in Gaza were severely damaged and inadequate, Aslan conveyed that children also suffered greatly during this process.
