Izmir Metropolitan Municipality draws attention with its work on homeless animals. In the first 6 months of the year, 500 homeless animals were found a warm home thanks to the efforts of the municipality. In addition, 20 thousand homeless animals were treated and examined, and nearly 15 thousand animals were sterilized.
Metropolitan authorities encourage animal lovers to adopt from shelters and warn them not to buy animals. In this way, it is aimed to provide loving homes to homeless animals.
Service in Dog Grooming Centers
Approximately 2 thousand stray animals are sheltered in 4 large temporary dog shelters belonging to the Metropolitan Municipality. While veterinary teams provide care and treatment services to animals here, they approach them with love and compassion. Especially in PAKO Street Animals Social Life Campus, dogs of different breeds are sheltered and the social needs of the animals are also taken into consideration.
Adopting stray animals in care homes aims to keep the stray animal population under control while ensuring that the animals live a healthier and happier life.
While Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s animal care projects improve the living conditions of homeless animals, they also aim to create animal love and awareness in society.
