CHP Karabük Deputy Cevdet Akay touched upon an issue that will shake the agenda at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Akay shared with the public the full 20.5-meter list of international gang leaders captured in Turkey. After these striking statements, MASAK officials also got involved in the issue.
In Akay’s statements, the list of leaders of international criminal organizations captured in Turkey was discussed in detail. Akay said, “We must have information about the activities, local networks and account movements of these criminal organizations in Turkey. Legal proceedings must be carried out meticulously, and laundering of proceeds of crime must be prevented.”
Another noteworthy point in Akay’s speech was that the regulations regarding the cryptocurrency markets would have a positive impact on the exit process from the gray list. Turkey, which was included in the gray list by the Financial Action Task Force, aims to be removed from the list following these regulations.
Akay had previously shared a 4.5-meter list of international criminal organizations in a statement he made in December. Now, it has attracted attention once again with its new list approaching 20 meters. Akay said, “It is important to end the activities of the captured criminal organizations and drug barons in our country. We will follow the legal processes regarding these names.”
Akay’s statements were made during the discussions on the Bill on Amendments to the Capital Markets Law at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
