TÜED Statement: Real Purchasing Power of Retirement Holiday Bonus Decreased
In the statement made by the Turkish Pensioners Association (TÜED), it was stated that the retiree holiday bonus has suffered a significant loss of real purchasing power in the last 6 years. In the statement, it was emphasized that the value of the holiday bonus against gold decreased by up to 80 percent.
In his written statement, TÜED Press Spokesperson Mehmet Emin Tangören reminds that the holiday bonus started to be paid as one thousand liras twice a year in 2018. Tangören stated that 5.20 grams of gold could be purchased with the bonus given at that time. However, he stated that only 1.26 grams of gold could be purchased with the holiday bonus paid this year.
“The real purchasing power of the Eid bonus has melted by 80 percent against gold.
