In sufficiently dark areas, numerous “shooting stars” have been observed in the sky after midnight Turkish time. Occurring every year in August Perseid Meteor Shower, offers a unique experience for both sky enthusiasts and enthusiasts. This meteor shower is best seen in the first two weeks, but can be observed for about a month.

In particular, the TÜBİTAK 26th Sky Observation Event held in Uludağ brought together astronomy enthusiasts from all over Turkey. In this 3-day event in Kirazlıyayla, the participants experienced unforgettable moments by watching the Perseid meteor shower. Such events contribute greatly to the spread of astronomy and the increase of public interest in the sky.
