Human Rights Activist Kiki: “Demanding Justice for Srebrenica and Gaza”

İnsan Hakları Aktivisti Kiki:

Hundreds of people gathered in Alexanderplatz Square in Berlin, the capital of Germany, under the slogan “From Srebrenica to Gaza: Denying the Genocide is also a crime.” Carrying the flags of Palestine and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the demonstrators made their voices heard with signs that read “Srebrenica 8372,” “Stop the genocide in Palestine,” “They will never kill us,” “Stop the genocide from Srebrenica to Gaza” and “Srebrenica 1995-1996, Palestine from 1936 to today.”

Speaking at the demonstration, human rights activist Kiki, whose father is Bosniak and mother is Croatian, recalled the Srebrenica Genocide, in which more than 8,300 Bosnians were brutally killed, saying, “However, Srebrenica is not only a genocide, but also a symbol of injustice and crimes against humanity. Similarly, the atrocities in Gaza are not just a conflict, but a clear violation of human rights.”

Kiki criticized approaches that see Israel’s attacks on Palestine as merely a “conflict”, saying, “Genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity cannot be openly ignored. The long-standing occupation and oppression of Palestine cannot be portrayed as a simple ‘Middle East conflict’.”

The slogans chanted during the demonstration, “Stop the genocide in Gaza”, “Open your eyes, our women are dying”, “Freedom for Palestine” and “Zionism is a crime”, drew attention to the demands for justice and human rights.
