High-Level Visits Continue in Saudi Arabia-Türkiye Relations

High-level visits from Saudi Arabia to Turkey continue unabated. According to information obtained from diplomatic sources, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud will pay an official visit to Turkey on July 14, 2024.

3 Visits in 2 Weeks

This visit will be the third ministerial visit from Saudi Arabia to Turkey in the last two weeks. In the first week of July, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, son of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Minister of Defense, and Majid Al Hogail, Minister of Municipality, Village and Housing Affairs, visited Turkey.

Protocol to be signed

During the visit, consultations will be held on developments in the Middle East, especially Gaza. Ceasefire negotiations, improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza, joint efforts to reconstruct Gaza, steps that can be taken to recognize the state of Palestine, and the future activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Gaza Contact Group will be discussed.

In addition, issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in political, economic, commercial, military, defense industry, energy, tourism and other areas will be discussed. During the visit, the ‘Amendment Protocol to the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Coordination Council Between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’, prepared with the aim of reviving the Turkish-Saudi Coordination The Council established in 2016 will be signed.

Following the signing of the protocol, the second meeting of the Coordination Council is planned to be held in Saudi Arabia.
