With the rising temperatures in Erzincan, citizens prefer watermelon, which satisfies the need for water and delights the palate with its taste, in search of a refreshing break. With the increase in demand for this fruit, watermelons began to take their place on the counters.
Especially on days when temperatures exceed 30 degrees, people of Erzincan benefit from the refreshing effect of watermelon. The decrease in watermelon planting areas this year compared to last year caused a slight increase in prices. However, citizens still do not refrain from enjoying watermelon.
Ömer Kayı, one of the tradesmen, said in his statement on the subject, “The decrease in watermelon planting areas throughout Turkey this year is reflected in the prices. I recommend the people of Erzincan to consume watermelon in hot weather. Watermelon has a cooling effect like a serum.”
Stating that consuming watermelon is beneficial in hot weather, Selim Çeper said, “Consuming watermelon in summer months is also important for health. This delicious fruit refreshes people. I recommend the people of Erzincan to enjoy watermelon.”
