Helicopter Wreck Removal Efforts in Kozan

Kozan'daki Helikopter Enkazı Çıkarma Çalışmaları

In the Kozan district, the helicopter wreckage removal efforts, which have been ongoing for the last four days, are continuing with intense effort. The teams are meticulously completing all the preparations required to transfer the helicopter to the surface with a crane.

Gendarmerie Commando Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) and Adana Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) teams are working with great dedication in this process, and are participating in the work together with a total of 20 expert teams from Ankara and Adana. The teams, who successfully completed the installation of a special balloon system to remove the helicopter from the ground, made important progress in the roof area under difficult conditions and with a 12-hour work.

The team, which conducted exploratory dives using an underwater search robot (ROW), then made the necessary preparations to bring the helicopter to the surface with specially trained divers. The helicopter is aimed to be brought up from a depth of approximately 35-40 meters in the Gökdere Dam. The divers attach 7 lifting balloons to the helicopter and work intensively throughout the day to raise the helicopter to the surface using these balloons.
