Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang visited Luxembourg and agreed with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden to deepen green cooperation. The two leaders emphasized that their long-standing friendly relations are supported by the principles of mutual respect and trust and set an example of mutually beneficial cooperation. Ding stated that they are ready to work with Luxembourg on implementing the reconciliation between the two countries, deepening cooperation in the financial sector, steel sector and green economy, and increasing cultural interaction.

Ding stated that today’s world is complex and there are various risks, and underlined that the partnership between China and the European Union should be maintained and commercial disputes should be addressed through dialogue and consultation. Ding stated that protectionism is damaging and that Luxembourg hopes that the EU will open up and encourage cooperation with China. Frieden stated that Luxembourg has a long friendship with China and emphasized that the new government will continue its friendly policies towards China and strengthen bilateral relations.
