Protests in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

Tel Aviv ve Kudüs'te Protestolar

Thousands of people took to the streets in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and many other parts of the country to protest the deaths of Israeli prisoners in Gaza. Demonstrators held Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government responsible for these deaths and chanted slogans such as “All home now” and “Help.”

Most of the prosecutors carried Israeli flags and various banners, posters and banners against Netanyahu and the representatives in his government. While some demonstrators were trying to attract attention by lighting fires, they encountered police intervention. By beating drums and whistles, the demonstrators raised their voices for the captives to return home as soon as possible.

As every week in Tel Aviv, thousands of people gathered on Begin Street in front of the Ministry of Defense complex in the evening and defendant Netanyahu and his government of blocking the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza. Relatives of the prisoners who took part in the protest accused Netanyahu of leaving the prisoners “under political rubble.” While there were clashes between Israeli police and demonstrators from time to time, the police detained at least two people.

In Jerusalem, protesters gathered around Netanyahu’s residence. The center of the demonstrations in West Jerusalem was Netanyahu’s residence on Gaza Street. The group, which started marching in the evening, encountered police obstacles when they wanted to move towards Netanyahu’s residence. Many police officers in the region were stationed behind iron barriers and did not allow the demonstrators to proceed to the house. The police tried to disperse the demonstrators by using force, causing tense moments in this process.
