Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce attended the BRICS+ Cities International Forum held in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, representing Turkey. Mayor Ünlüce, representing Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality at the forum, held important meetings with other mayors from Turkey.
Forum Participants and Collaborations
Local government representatives of Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and other countries came together at the forum. Participants came together to strengthen intercity cooperation, support sustainable development and share best practices. After the meeting, the Union of Cities and Municipalities of BRICS+ Countries was established.
Founding Declaration and Purposes
In the Establishment Declaration of the Union of Cities and Municipalities of BRICS+ Countries, it was emphasized to strengthen cooperation in city management, share experience in the socio-economic field and solve common problems. The declaration stated that joint studies will be carried out on issues such as environmental sustainability, cultural exchange, infrastructure development and social protection.
