Activists affiliated with the environmental organization Just Stop Oil cut the airport’s wire fences and entered the area where private jets are located. Here they sprayed orange paint on two private jets, including the plane of the famous singer Taylor Swift.

Activists pointed out that 80 percent of the world’s population has never flown on a plane, and 1 percent accounts for half of aviation emissions. It was also stated that the emissions caused by a private jet are 14 times more than those of a commercial flight.

Just Stop Oil spokesperson emphasized that the new government in England should make legal regulations banning the use of fossil fuels in 2030 and announced that the actions will continue.

Cole Macdonald, one of the activists taking part in the action, stated that the luxurious lives of wealthy people do not affect the crisis climate and that it will affect everyone. Activists also noted that there was no intervention while painting the planes.

Just Stop Oil activists, who have conveyed environmental messages by painting important places such as Stonehenge in the past, are known for their remarkable actions. Activists hold orange painted demonstrations at various events to stop heavy traffic and raise awareness.
