The panel titled ‘Being a Family for an Orphan’, organized by Elazığ Provincial Mufti’s Office, took place in the Ahmet Tevfik Ozan Fair and Culture Center conference hall. Quran course instructors and citizens showed great interest in the panel.
The panel was organized within the scope of the Family and Religious Guidance Office activities and important information was conveyed to the audience. The event, which started with a speech by Religious Services Specialist Yusuf Alataş on the subject of ‘Foster Family in Religious References’, emphasized that looking after orphans and showing compassion to them is a religious responsibility. Alataş said, “As Muslims, we should be aware of our responsibilities towards orphans and support them.”
Sociologist Fulya Tutak and social worker Aysun Doğan Genç also discussed the concept of foster care during the panel. The speakers touched on the importance of being a foster family and provided detailed information about who can be a foster family and the support the state provides to foster families and children.
This panel, organized by Elazığ Provincial Mufti’s Office, aimed to raise awareness in the society and drew attention to the importance of taking care of orphans. It is aimed that similar events will continue increasingly and the society will be more sensitive on this issue.
