An unidentified body, who was determined to have died about 4 months ago, was found on the rocks by a citizen in Fener District Baba Burnu location in Antalya’s Muratpaşa district. The incident came to light when a citizen who was an amateur diver went into the sea. The citizen, who noticed an object resembling a human body on the rocks at the point where the artificial waterfall flows into the sea, immediately reported the situation to the marine police.

Antalya Police Department Sea Port Branch Directorate teams took the body, which had no arms, legs and head parts, onto the boat with a floating stretcher and brought it to the Marina. The fact that only the body part of the body was found and that it had been at sea for more than 4 months added a different dimension to the incident.

After the work of the Crime Scene Investigation teams, the body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. While the investigation continues, it is considered that the body may be linked to the migrant boat that sank off the coast of Cyprus and other bodies washed up on Antalya beaches, due to the time it took to find the body and its missing parts.
