Peaceful Yacht Cüneyt Arcayürek
On the 9th anniversary of his death, journalist-writer Cüneyt Arcayürek was commemorated by his wife Esin Arcayürek and the Journalists Association.
Esin Arcayürek said, “Cüneyt Arcayürek worked hard for the Republic of Turkey all his life. May he rest in peace. We lived together for 55 years. He was always in the right mind in his last days, he wrote until the last day. “I miss him, but I live in my dreams.”

In his commemoration message for Arcayürek, Journalists Association President Nazmi Bilgin stated that his journalism legacy is a great treasure for Turkey. Bilgin emphasized that Arcayürek will continue to be an example for young colleagues.
Cüneyt Arcayürek’s Journalism Career
Cüneyt Arcayürek, who started journalism in Ulus Newspaper in 1947, worked in important institutions such as Ankara Akşam News, Kudret, Vatan, ANKA News Agency, Akis magazine, Hürriyet, Güneş and Milliyet in his career. He was recognized for his success in journalism and the courage he showed in the Cyprus Peace Operation.

Cüneyt Arcayürek became the first journalist to enter Cyprus on a military ship during the military operation against Cyprus in 1974. The photographs he took a splash around the world. Arcayürek made significant contributions to the history of the press with 40 books and thousands of articles.
