Our Colleague Mahir Çoğaç Lost His Life in a Heinous Attack
ANKARA –Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin shared a condolence message to the deputy principal Mahir Çoğaç, who was killed in traffic by an alleged student of his in Kocaeli. Tekin said, “I once again condemn all forms of violence, may God have mercy on our teacher Mahir Çoğaç, and offer my condolences to his family, relatives, students, colleagues and our educational family.”
Mahir Çoğaç, Deputy Principal of Çayırova Fevzi Çakmak Anatolian High School, who works in Kocaeli, was shot by a person allegedly to be his student while he was driving in traffic. Çoğaç, who was taken to the hospital, died. Kocaeli Governorship launched an operation to capture the suspect.

Sharing a condolence message and statement on the subject on his official account, Tekin said, “I learned with sorrow that our valuable colleague, teacher Mahir Çoğaç, lost his life as a result of the heinous attack he suffered in traffic. Today, the Teaching Profession Law, which is one of our most concrete steps within the scope of the fight against violence as the education family, will be put on the agenda of the Parliament. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of a colleague in this vile attack.” On this occasion, I once again condemn all forms of violence, may God have mercy on our teacher Mahir Çoğaç, and offer my condolences to his family, relatives, students, colleagues and our educational family.
