Hadid, a Palestinian-American model, was removed from a shoe ad in which she was the face of the brand after a post on Israel’s official Twitter account accused Hadid of anti-Semitism and claimed she was a call for violence.

A spokesperson for sportswear manufacturer Adidas apologized after Hadid’s appearance in an advert for the shoes used in the 1972 Munich Olympics caused “distress and distress”, the spokesperson said, adding that the advert linked the shoes to “tragic historical events”.
