Bella Hadid Removed from Ad Over Anti-Israel Views
World-famous Palestinian-American model Bella Hadid made a statement on her social media account regarding her removal from a shoe advertisement in which she was the face of the brand due to her anti-Israeli views.
Hadid stressed that she would never knowingly participate in a study linked to a “horrific tragedy”, “I had no knowledge of the ad’s historical connection to the events of 1972 before it was released”Hadid stated that she will continue to fight against anti-Semitism, but said that what happened at the 1972 Munich Olympics “Not to be associated with the liberation of the Palestinians”Hadid emphasized that she will always stand by the Palestinians, “Palestine is not synonymous with terrorism, this advert has unintentionally highlighted an issue that does not reflect who we are”made an assessment.
Hadid’s Ad Removal Process
Hadid, a Palestinian-American model, was removed from a shoe ad in which she was the face of the brand after a post on Israel’s official Twitter account accused Hadid of anti-Semitism and claimed she was a call for violence.
A spokesperson for sportswear manufacturer Adidas apologized after Hadid’s appearance in an advert for the shoes used in the 1972 Munich Olympics caused “distress and distress”, the spokesperson said, adding that the advert linked the shoes to “tragic historical events”.
