Ali Şabanoğlu, who continued his struggle for survival during the most difficult times in Hatay, managed to hold on to life for 52 hours by being trapped under the rubble with his wife and child. Şabanoğlu, who lost his leg in the earthquake described as the disaster of the century, continues to symbolize hope by returning to his profession with his prosthetic leg.
It all started in Hatay, which was most devastated by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. In this disaster, in which approximately 25 thousand people lost their lives, many people lost their limbs under the rubble. One of them was 36-year-old Ali Şabanoğlu, who lost his left leg under the rubble during the February 6 earthquakes. Şabanoğlu, who was trapped under the rubble with his wife and son when his house collapsed in the Çekmece District of Defne district, managed to escape by creating his living space under the dining table in the kitchen. Şabanoğlu, who was rescued from the rubble 52 hours later, had his left leg amputated and replaced with a prosthetic leg.
Şabanoğlu, who stood up again with his prosthetic leg after a year of treatments, clung to life by returning to the curtain business he had been doing since 2001. Şabanoğlu, which manufactures and sells curtains with its own means, offers curtain services to homes, containers and domestically. Şabanoğlu, who is determined to continue the job he has loved for 23 years, prefers to focus on his job to heal the wounds of the earthquake.
It is observed that Ali Şabanoğlu continues his passion and effort for his job in order to forget the pain he has experienced and to look to the future with hope.
