In Berlin, the capital of Germany, many protesters were detained in support of Palestine. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the city hall on Müller Street in the Wedding district to show solidarity with Palestine and protest Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

Later, the protesters marched with Palestinian flags and carried banners and signs reading “Palestinian lives matter,” “Ceasefire now,” and “Over 19,000 women killed by Israel.” The protesters, mostly women and children, chanted slogans such as “Stop the genocide in Gaza,” “We are speaking out because they are stealing our land,” “Freedom for Palestine,” and “Netanyahu is a terrorist.”

Police intervened in the demonstration near the Gesundbrunnen metro station, arresting several supporters. Some prosecutors were handcuffed, and one protester fainted after the police intervened. The organizers of the demonstration announced that they will file a criminal complaint against the police’s harsh response to the peaceful protests.
