Bakırköy 1st Commercial Court of First Instance ruled bankruptcy for Hakan Şenol, the owner of Maksul Gıda, one of Turkey’s leading dried nuts brands. Following the decision, it was announced that the last 50 branches of the company in operation would be closed.
Bankruptcy Decision After Request for Concordat
Faced with economic difficulties 3 years ago, Maksul Gıda requested concordat and decided to close 150 of its 200 branches. However, the expert report received upon request by the court revealed that the company had no chance of recovery and a bankruptcy decision was made.
Employees Will Be Unemployed
The decision to close down Maksul Gıda, which provides employment opportunities for hundreds of employees across Turkey, will cause dozens of employees to become unemployed. The company, which also has branches in Bursa, will further deepen the unemployment problem of employees who cannot receive their salaries.
