(ISTANBUL) – Kazdağı Natural and Cultural Heritage Preservation Association made a statement about the fire disaster between Diyarbakır and Mardin in which 12 people lost their lives. The association emphasized that in addition to the loss of life as a result of the fire, agricultural areas in the region were also damaged.

Statement from Kazdağı Natural and Cultural Heritage Preservation Association: In the statement titled “Fires continue to take lives”, the following was said: “13 of our people and hundreds of animals and other creatures were burned to death in the fire that broke out between Diyarbakır and Mardin. In the investigation reports made in “The region, it is stated that 55 thousand decares of land, 20 thousand decares of which were agricultural areas, were affected as a result of the fire.” “In addition to the loss of life, the livelihoods of the local people were also destroyed.”

  • Compensation for the losses of local people
  • Determining the precautions to be taken before the fire and carrying out the necessary
  • Supply and availability of night vision helicopters and planes
  • Establishing coordination to ensure cooperation between local people, non-governmental organizations, local governments and responsible public units

At the end of the statement, the sadness and anger felt by the association members were emphasized and a call was made to take the necessary steps immediately to prevent similar disasters from occurring.
