The fire, which broke out in a grassy area in Sakran Ceza area of Bahcedere District in Aliağa district of Izmir, was taken under control by air and land interventions.
The fire started in a maquis and grassland area for an unknown reason. Citizens who noticed the smoke rising from the area immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Water trucks from Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality fire brigades were directed to the scene. The fire, which spread rapidly due to the wind, was intervened and as a result of intensive work from the air and land, the fire was taken under control within a period of 3 hours.
After the fire extinguishing efforts, cooling efforts started. The teams continue their cooling efforts in the region and continue to work meticulously to prevent any re-ignition.
