President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Graduation Ceremony. The highlights of the ceremony were listed as follows:
I send my love to your heroic friends serving all around our homeland and at sea, and to all our security forces.
I am very pleased to witness the excitement and joy of our students and families. I congratulate each and every one of our children.
I would like to thank your instructors and commanders who supported you throughout your education. I would also like to express my gratitude to your families who raised you with sacrifice.
Today, we are happy to graduate 868 officers, including 774 male, 82 female and 12 guest officers. We are also graduating 3,034 male and 215 female non-commissioned officer students.
We are sending off 4,117 of our children from different branches, nationalities and ranks to their new places of duty. 75 of our students from friendly and allied countries are returning to their countries after completing their education.
We see that these brothers of ours have reached very good places. I have full faith that our Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Organization will become even stronger.
Each of you is performing a special duty on behalf of the nation. On your shoulders lies the legacy of our dear nation, which raises its hands to the sky and prays.
You are not soldiers of an ordinary profession, but of a heavy national duty. You are the noble representatives of the epic state consciousness of the beloved homeland for which so many lives have been sacrificed for a thousand years.
I congratulate each and every one of you and kiss your foreheads one by one.
‘WE DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYONE’S TEARS’
If Turkey can display a brave and conscientious stance in the world today, this is due to the successes achieved in the field of security in the last 22 years. We have achieved historic successes in the fight against the terrorist organization. There will definitely be no turning back on this path.
We have no problem with anyone who abides by the law. However, we will not tolerate those who go beyond the law. We will not tolerate those who threaten the peace of our citizens. We will never give them any quarter, no matter who they are, mafia, gang, human trafficker or terrorist.
We cannot allow the perception of impunity to become established in society. My request from you is that you never make the citizens cry out, “Where is the state?” You will quickly stand by the citizens in difficult times and make them feel the power of the state.
We will continue our struggle with determination and resolve until terrorism ceases to be a source of threat to our country. Details are coming…
