Call for Migration to Safe Areas
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee, who called on residents to go to “safe areas”, claimed in his statement that missiles were fired at Israel from locations specified by Hamas and other groups. In his previous statements, Adraee, who called for the evacuation of more than 10 neighborhoods in Khan Younis, drew attention to the security situation in the region.
Local and international organizations emphasize that there is no longer a safe area in the Gaza Strip due to the attacks carried out by Israel. As a result of the attacks that have continued since October 7, many Palestinians have been forcibly displaced. Some of these people have taken refugee in the homes of relatives, while others are trying to survive under difficult conditions in open areas such as streets, schools or parks.
Palestinians Face Threat of Pandemic
Palestinians living in Gaza are deprived of basic services such as sewage, electricity, communication and internet in these areas where infrastructure has been largely destroyed. These adverse conditions threaten public health by leading to the spread of epidemics.
According to the government’s Media Office in Gaza, the number of people forcibly displaced in the Gaza Strip, which has a population of 2.3 million, has reached two million since October 7. This situation highlights the extent of the humanitarian crisis in the region.
