The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a strong statement regarding the raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and fanatic Jews. The ministry stressed that such actions were “provocative” and that the Israeli government must urgently take measures against any activity that would undermine the status of the holy sites.

In a written statement made by the Ministry, concerns were expressed regarding the actions of Ben-Gvir that took place yesterday. The statement included the following statements:

  • “Moscow is extremely concerned about this provocative action by Ben-Gvir. Pro-Zionist groups do not hesitate to carry out similar provocative actions.”
  • “The Israeli government should not only condemn such situations, but also take effective measures to stop actions that threaten the status of the holy sites in Jerusalem, as set out in the 1994 Jordan-Israel Peace Treaty.”

“Such steps increase radical sentiment in both Israeli and Palestinian societies and undermine international efforts to reduce tensions in the Gaza Strip,” the statement continued.
