Binance Statement: On Freezing Palestinian Investments
Binance responded to claims on social media platform X that “Palestinians’ investments were frozen at Israel’s request.” The statement emphasized the following:
“As of 2023, more than 1,500 user accounts on the Binance platform have been subject to detailed investigation.A comprehensive due diligence and verification process was conducted on these accounts. As a result of this process, only those identified as having links to illegal activities in Palestine, in accordance with the standards that international financial institutions are required to adhere to, were identified as having links to illegal activities in Palestine. 220 accounts have been frozen“This number represents less than 0.1% of the total registered users in that region. Due to our transparency policy, we see no harm in sharing this information with the public.”
Binance underlined that it will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure the security of its users and the integrity of the platform.
