Bus Fire Did Not Cause Panic

Otobüs Yangını Panik Yaratmadı

Continuing its journey towards the European side, the bus began to emit smoke from the engine compartment as it passed over the July 15 Martyrs Bridge. Realizing the situation, the driver immediately pulled over to the right lane and opened the doors. Meanwhile, the sleeping passengers suddenly began to evacuate the bus in panic. Upon notification of the incident, police, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene in a short time.

Fire crews who arrived at the scene quickly brought the fire that started in the engine compartment of the bus under control and extinguished it. Police teams took security measures and closed Büyükdere Street to traffic in the direction of Sarıyer. After the cooling efforts of the fire crews, traffic was opened in a controlled manner. However, the bus became unusable as a result of the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire and an investigation was launched regarding the incident.

İstanbul'da Otobüs Yangını: Panik Anları ve Yaralı Yok

Erdal Parlak, who traveled to Istanbul with his family, described the events with the following words: “The bus broke down a few times on the way. There was a lot of cargo and stuff, so there was smoke in the engine compartment. At first, the middle door didn’t open, but then the passengers managed to open it. We got through it without anything happening to our children, but they shouldn’t have been more careful. We had some minor problems while coming from Malatya. all that stuff could hurt us and that they shouldn’t put anything in the back seats, but they didn’t really take that into consideration. We’re fine for now, our kids are fine, we hope there won’t be any. “There were 35 passengers on the bus in total. We were traveling from Malatya to Istanbul.”
