A fire that broke out in an industrial site in the Köyceğiz district of Muğla caused millions of liras of material damage, but was largely brought under control. The fire spread to the honey packaging facility and quickly engulfed the entire facility and its surroundings.
Extensive Fire Response
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade teams, forest fire extinguishing teams affiliated with the Regional Directorate of Forestry, Dalaman Airport fire brigade team, private sector tankers and construction equipment worked to extinguish the fire. Workplaces and vehicles were also damaged in the fire, which grew rapidly due to the wind.

Governor Akbıyık stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and said, “The fire has been brought under control. 150 personnel and 50 vehicles intervened. It is a great chance that there was no loss of life. Although there is a “Risk of the fire spreading to residential areas, we are not considering this situation at the moment. Work continues in coordination with all units.”
