Another historical record was broken at the Kapıkule Border Gate. In just one day, 9,628 passenger vehicles and 40,593 passengers entered. Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer stated that measures were taken to meet this record entry.
Governor Sezer: “All-Time Record Broken”
Governor Sezer said in his statement, “As of yesterday, an all-time record was broken in terms of entry. 9,628 passenger vehicles entered. In addition, 40,593 passengers entered. This is the highest number of passenger and vehicle entries in Kapıkule.”
Increasing Density for Expatriates
Emphasizing that the number of expats entering the country has increased this year, Sezer said, “The daily density at Kapıkule increases within the scope of the expat season. Records are broken at customs gates during this period. This year, especially expats have a greater “desire to visit Turkey. 192,341 vehicles and 7,769,821 passengers have entered Kapıkule so far.”
Measurements Taken
Governor Sezer stated that all necessary precautions were taken for expats and said, “We increased the number of platforms from 12 to 24. Security measures were taken at rest areas and gas stations. Customs and security teams were supported with additional personnel. A total of “1,205 customs personnel are on duty. There are nearly 110 additional personnel on the security side. Thanks to this, transactions are carried out quickly and smoothly.”
Expatriates Are Satisfied
Expatriates who entered Kapıkule stated that they were happy to set foot in their homeland. They expressed that they were satisfied with the service provided.
