Ardahan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Directorate supports the production of aronia fruit, which is very beneficial for health and is produced only in a few provinces in Turkey. Aronia fruit is extremely rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber and contains antioxidant activity and phenolic compounds.
Aronia fruit attracts attention with its high content of vitamin C, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and the minerals calcium, potassium, magnesium and zinc. With these features, aronia is a special plant with very high added value and antioxidant value.
Ardahan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Muhammet Fatih Cineviz,He said the following about the studies carried out regarding the production of Aronia: “We are changing the product pattern with the Aronia seedling plantings we carry out in the Posof district. Aronia plant is resistant to cold weather conditions and is a suitable product for the Ardahan geography. Aronia fruits have many positive effects on health and have a high potential for use in the pharmaceutical industry.”
While Provincial Director Cineviz was conducting field investigations within the scope of the Aronya Demonstration Study carried out in Posof district, Posof District Director Güneş Tekin and other relevant personnel also accompanied the study.
