Identified with the Safranbolu district of Karabük, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, saffron is now also preferred as wedding jewelry. One of the most expensive spices in the world, saffron has a value of up to 300 thousand lira per kilo.
Saffron is used in many areas such as paint, food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food sectors. This time, saffron was used as jewelry at the wedding of Yunus and Neslihan Basançelebi, who got married in Safranbolu. Ersin Cebeci, the groom’s friend who attended the wedding, presented the couple with a different wedding gift by wearing saffron.
While wearing the double saffron, Ersin Cebeci emphasized the antidepressant properties of saffron and wished them health and happiness. Saffron is known to be good for many ailments such as lung diseases, respiratory diseases, stress and depression. It is also called the elixir of happiness because it helps to secrete the happiness hormone serotonin.
Choosing saffron as wedding jewelry offered a different experience than traditional jewelry and became a unique detail that added meaning to the couple’s special day.
