One of the forest fires that has increased in recent days occurred in Sinop’s Saraydüzü district. As a result of the fire that broke out in the forest area in Korucuk village, an area of 3.5 hectares was damaged. The fire was brought under control thanks to the rapid intervention of the village residents.
Upon notification of the incident, water trucks from Boyabat, Saraydüzü, Durağan and Gerze Forest Management Directorates, construction equipment from the Provincial Special Administration and firefighting teams from Boyabat and Saraydüzü municipalities were dispatched to the region. As a result of the teams’ intensive efforts that lasted approximately three hours, the fire was brought under control and extinguished.
Authorities stated that a detailed investigation has been launched into the fire and that efforts are continuing to determine the cause of the fire.
